There’s no
denying that house is the dominant sound in electronic music right now. That’s
due, in part, to a number of talented young producers coming through and making
the sound their own. However, this process has led to the production of a lot
of sub-standard music, with tunes spreading across YouTube boasting neither fresh ideas nor dancefloor sensibility, sapping the enthusiasm of
those who crave quality over quantity. So what’s the answer?
You could do worse than listen to our new episode from VR newcomer Ketana; a bumper effort in
the style of Radio 1’s Friday night show, featuring the quirky, the
soulful, the atmospheric and the slightly ridiculous among what’s out right now.
Despite being over two hours long, this mix comes with a ‘100% No Filler’
guarantee and sets the standard for what we want to showcase on the podcast
this year. There's newer music, combined with a few older favourites and a couple of artists who may be new to you, with the main constant being the quality of the selection. Now for some Easter benediction...
